Sweet Tomato Relish

  • 1000 grams Toamotes, Cut in half
  • 500 grams onions, Cut in half
  • 750 grams sugar
  • 250 grams malt vinegar
  • 1 level teaspoons Turmeric,Curry Powder and Salt
  • 3 level tablespoons cornflour
  • 2 level tablespoons Extra Malt Vinegar

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. 1. Put tomatoes and onions into bowl and chop for 7 secs speed 7.

    2. Add all other ingredients except cornflour and extra vinegar.

    3. Cook for 45 mins on Varoma Reverse Speed 2. Place steaming basket on top of lid while cooking.

    4. Once cooked add the mixture of cornflour and vinegar to the bowl and stir through to help thicken.

    5. Place into sterilised jars with lids.
