This recipe is so simple and delicious it has been a favourite for my toddler for the last year. I double the batch size tho for a family meal and I hate to admit it but I leave the kusandi out as we are all light weights when it comes to hot tmrc_emoticons.)

Wow such a simple and delicious curry ! I cut the chicken thighs in 4 so they were reasonably large and cooked the curry for 12 minutes . Fabulous 😀😀👍

    Submitted by cherlyndria77 on 30. July 2016 - 11:41.

Delicious!  Had friends over for dinner and this was a beautiful curry to share. I made the kasundi from scratch so that I could have a bit of control over the heat - some of my friends are a bit wussy!  I doubled the batch and found that it needed 16 minutes cooking time all up.

Thank you for this recipe, it's a real keeper.

    Yum!

Made the Kasundi myself. Used a tin of coconut milk (we like it saucy), 30g of coconut sugar instead of brown. Great base recipe, great outcome!  tmrc_emoticons.)

    Submitted by Alexandria01 on 24. July 2016 - 17:13.

After I sauteed the onion and garlic, I then cooked the spices tumeric, coriander and tomato paste for 2min/varoma/1. I even added 1tsp of ground cumin. Turned out fantastic and quite authentic - at least I thought so! It is very tastey and I would definately cook again - maybe with a little less salt!

  • I know all butter chickens

    Submitted by Daisy66 on 15. September 2014 - 19:05.

I know all butter chickens are as different as the masala mixer/maker however I too would not call this dish a butter chicken in the Punjabi style. It to my taste is not smooth or tomatoey (sp lol) or the right spice flavour.

However it is avery nice authentic indian flavoured dish that reminded me of the relish often used as a side dish to fresh vege in Northern India.  Not too hot but a sharp and clean flavour.

I will be honest, this didn't do it for me at all. Flavour was fine, but not at all like a butter chicken. Kids enjoyed it. Probably won't make again, will find another recipe to use my remaining kasundi.
