Dal Makhani
- 100 g split black lentils
- 120 g low fat milk
- 1 level tbsp oil, approximate 15g
- 1/2 level tsp cumin seeds
- 75 g onions, chopped in quarter
- 1 level teaspoons ginger, stem
- 3 pieces garlic
- 1/4 level teaspoons tumeric
- 1 level teaspoons chilli powder, or as per your taste(optional)
- 2 level teaspoons curry powder
- 1/8 level teaspoons garam masala
- 150 g tomatoes, chopped in small pieces
- salt, to taste
- 1 pieces Green Chillies, slit in half
- 2 heaped tablespoons fresh coriander, garnish
- to taste lemon juice

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation
- 1.Soak lentils overnight. drain and clean under running water
2. Puree tomatoes 3sec speed 5 . set aside
3. Add lentils ,2tsp salt,500g boiling water in bowl
4. Cook 30 min 100c speed 1
5. Mash 30sec speed 6
6. Add milk and mix 10sec speed 6
set aside
7. Clean dry bowl
8. chop onion garlic ginger 5sec speed 5
9. add chilli split in half ,cumin seeds,oil
10. saute 8 min varoma speed 1
11. Add tumeric ,chilli powder,curry powder, garam masala and 2 tbsp water to the bowl
12. cook 1.5 min 100c speed 1
13. add tomato puree tp the bowl
14. cook 8 min 100c speed 1
15. Add lentils(with water it was cooked in) , salt to taste back to the bowl
16. cook 25 min varoma speed 2 with simmering basket on the lid instead of mc
17. add lemon juice to taste
18. garnish with coriander
