      TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

    How to:
  1. Place a saucer in the fridge to test the jam.
Sterilise your jam jars. There are many ways. Google it.

Tip 500g of the blueberries and 350g of the sugar into the Closed lid.

    Blitz 4sec/sp4. Scrape.

Add the remaining ingredients (including the other 500g of unblitzed blueberries) and complete the following steps.

    1. Place measuring basket on top and cook 20m/100°C/sp2/REV.

    2. Scrape

    3. Cook again for 30m/100/Sp2/REV. Be warned...ther will be a fair amount of spatter. Keep that basket in place. If neccessary stop and scrape and set speed to 2.5.

    4. Scrape

    5. Cook for a further 10m/Varoma/ sp2.5..watching for that spatter.. :O

    6. Test on a cold saucer. It should gel. If not, cook further at Varoma until it does. Some blueberries are juicier than others and may take longer.

Very carefully pour the jam into sterilised jars and seal in a water bath or inverted.

Tip

I love cooking with seasonal produce. And when you do that...it is so economical!

Enjoy on crumpets, muffins, toast, stirred through icecream.. etc. etc. etc..

One final warning. This is not a "set and forget" recipe.
You really need to kepp a close eye on the hot jam spatter at all times.

*Recipe can easily be halved.
Just roughly take 20% off all the cooking times. But use your judgement when it comes to setting times.*

Great recipe! Set well. For my first attempt I halved the recipe and it was perfect! Will be making a full batch next time. I didn't use the licquor and it was fine. Only thing I might change next time is not blitzing the fruit at the beginning as I like my jam chunky. Great reviews from my friends!
